Are you missing the buzz of Sex and the City 2? Have Hollywood’s romantic comedies so far this year left you feeling bored? Well it’s good news gals (and of course guys!) because Bollywood releases its first CHICK FLICK next month, and we at BollywoodInLondon.com say that it’s about time too!
Forget New York, it’s all about New Delhi in Aisha, a film produced by Anil Kapoor which also stars his daughter Sonam. It follows the tale of Jane Austen’s Emma in which our lead girl – Aisha – sees nothing wrong when it comes to meddling in other people’s love lives. Beautiful, rich and a social butterfly, Aisha gets away with it until Arjun (played by Abhay Deol) comes along on a mission to take her down a peg or two. Set in Delhi’s upper-class society, Aisha is modern, fun and funny. And the outfits aren’t too bad either.
The film is directed by hip Indian female director, Rajshree Ojha, and there’s a really cool interactive website featuring the trailer and songs to whet our appetite while we wait for the film’s release.
